Monday 9.24.12

The barbecue this weekend was a lot of fun(AWESOME!!!). I’m so glad so many of you were able to make it(sorry if you couldn’t be here).  So next I was thinking either paintball of F1 Boston. Thoughts??


On October 27th CrossFit Newton will be participating in Amazing Grace better known as Barbells for Boobs(Mammograms in action).  

Mammograms in action provides funding to breast centers globally through our Mammograms In Action ® Grant Program as a “last resort” resource for thousands of people who do not qualify for government funding or other charitable resources. Funding for screenings and diagnostic procedures is not only a necessity, but really does SAVE LIVES.

In this workout, you perform 30 Clean and Jerks for time. The weight used for men is 135 pounds and 95 pounds for women. During the AMAZING GRACE fundraiser all participants may modify the weight used in order to accommodate their physical abilities.

    Snatches started at 135 worked up to 145 for the last couple sets

    WOD 11:02 with 30 inch

    Good times at the BBQ!

    Working around an injury, so I did 2 dead hang pullups holding a 25lb dumbbell EMOTM for 10 mins. Upped it to 30lbs on the last minute.

    WOD: 11:34 – subbed 50 double unders for the 15 BBJs.

    Took a much needed mental health day from work so went in to do max BS and give it a go with my shoulder on the 5 rep max pp/pj for providence.

    BS = 215, 20 lb PR (i’ll take it for not doing any heavy squats since injuring my shoulder at fenway)
    worked up to heavy 3 clean and pp at 135….no pain….i’d say I’m good to go with 5 rp max at providence. Let’s just keep fingers crossed that snatches and pullups dont show up for sunday!!! 🙂
