A reply to Josh’s post on 10/7

Awesome perspective, Josh, and spot on!  For those to whom CrossFit makes sense, it has been the answer to past frustrations of the 30 minute cardio session and 30 minute weight workout. We are indeed a different breed.  We like challenges.  We WANT challenges  and with each challenge taken comes success.  With each success comes further success.  CrossFit demands that each person look inside at him/herself and find the will to continue, even through the pain and stress you describe.  In an atmosphere that is fully supportive and celebrates each and every accomplishment of others.  I am so unbelievably thankful that I found CrossFit and a community of like minded individuals who all looked at the “normal American” way of life and knew that there had to be a better way.

3 rounds

5 hspu

10 power cleans 135/95

15 toes 2 bar

20 kb swings 1.5/1

25 box jumps 24/20

 30 dbl unders

rest 3 min

Competitors

Each movement should be unbroken. If you need to take a rest with the power cleans you will rest at the shoulders, not on the ground.  All broken movements will be started over again. So if weight needs to be scaled to accomplish this, do so. Don’t worry, if you can’t complete 30 unbroken in 3 tries it’s OK. If you lose co-ordination on the box jumps just start them right back up and you won’t be penalized.

did lots of squats yesterday and figured, theres no better day to do max height box jumps.
started at 24 in box, 3 reps in row, add aplate and go right away. kept going one platte at a time. ended getting close to 50 inches. that was fun and tiring.

20:37 rx. I tried my best to get everything unbroken and couldn’t do it. Not my best day ever.

Double unders – managed 46 and 52. Really need to practice those.

15:14 rx, but was unaware that we were supposed to rest in between rounds. I just did rest as needed so that I could do everything unbroken, so it was more like 1 min rest after each round.

first round, all unbroken, second round 9/6 f2b, third round 8/7 f2b

Was pissed that I could not do f2b unbroken. They are my wheel house normally.

afterwards, 100 and 94 du. happy with that!
